New Tires & Springs
So I finally placed an order to replace my "slicks". Ordered a set of 4 Kumho ECSTA ASX in 285/40/17 size ($126 each). We'll see how they compare to Nittos.
Now if I would also call Dal and GW to get some springs...

Well, what do you know! I just called Dal, ordered a pair of rear springs for about $100, and then I called GW and ordered a pair of front ones for about $150.
I'll try to install them as they are, without cutting. From what I'm reading it should be stock SS height, except for Dima's case for some reason.
I don't really like the raked look, so I think everything should be fine.
I guess I'll do tires and springs in the same day, and then 2 weeks later I'll do wheel adjustment (when springs settle).

My Global West springs were definitely higher than the stock height. If you decide to cut them later, do not cut more than 1/4 of the coil. Otherwise it will be too low for Brooklyn.
Since these springs are stiff and linear, literally every mm of coil length makes a difference.

No, it'll keep the car stock SS hight, not 9C1. 9C1 sits about 2" higher then SS does.

Is there anything I should know before getting those installed? Are all the parts going to be included, or should I order something else?

It might be a good idea to replace upper isolators. Any mechanic can order Moog ones which are pretty good.
Tires and springs don't have any other parts.

Well..... you will need some new tire fluid and bearing ears. Then you'll have to spray some tension onto the springs.

The springs are in. At this point the rear looks a bit lower, however the front is sitting as it was. I just want to hear that they will actually settle down in 2 weeks or so.
Also are GW slower at settling down then SS, since they are stiffer?
Thanks

I had the same experience. The front will settle somewhat but just to make the car level. It was .25-.5" higher compared to an Impala with stock springs. While it doesn't sound like much, the extra .5" makes a lot of difference because the rear wheelwell is not as high as the front.

That sucks.
What if I just cut off the isolators out without taking the springs out? Possible? Is it ok not to have them there?

The car will squeek without the isolators.
The only isolators that you can remove is the lower rear ones but that's exactly the opposite of what you need.
Drive for 2-3 weeks before doing anything.

Just messing with ya Dan:xeyes: You dont do much modding anymore. I dont know if you remember me telling you this, but you inspired me into modding Caprices . I followed your website with the white car a long time before we became friends. How times have change in the last 3 or 4 years. That reminds me, where the hell is LM13 !
